Eden Scott is delighted to be supporting a high-growth multinational group in their search for a Senior Accounts Payable Manager. This strategic 12-month contract offers an exciting opportunity to lead transformation across a global finance operation. Based within either their Glasgow or Edinburgh Head offices on a hybrid working model.
The Opportunity
As the Accounts Payable lead, you'll guide the team through a period of change - enhancing processes, strengthening controls, and building the data infrastructure that powers spend visibility and decision-making across the business. You'll collaborate with Procurement, FP&A, and Financial Reporting to embed best practices across the P2P cycle, ensuring scalability, accuracy, and transparency.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, brings structure to ambiguity, and leads with a continuous improvement mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Data & Insight Leadership
* Build high-quality spend data using Workday and other tools
* Deliver actionable insights on supplier performance, spend trends, and process efficiency
* Empower budget holders with transparent, evidence-based reporting
Process Transformation
* Overhaul AP operations to drive consistency, timeliness, and world-class KPIs
* Design scalable templates and reporting frameworks
* Ensure accruals are accurate, predictable, and embedded in planning cycles
P2P Optimisation
* Strengthen end-to-end P2P processes through cross-functional collaboration
* Align AP with procurement and financial systems goals
* Support automation and compliance improvements
Team Leadership & Governance
* Lead and develop the AP team through change
* Promote best practices in automation, coding, and standardisation
* Maintain robust financial controls and audit readiness
What You'll Bring
* Strong experience within in AP leadership, ideally within a global or shared services environment
* It is essential that the successful candidate holds strong experience in both management and leading process improvement/change
* Strong experience managing accruals and financial reporting cycles
* Proven track record in P2P process improvement
* Proficiency in ERP systems (Workday preferred) and reporting tools
* Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-driven approach
* Ability to lead through change and bring clarity to complex operations
