The job itself
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Care Quality Improvement Officer to join our Contract and Quality Assurance Team.
This is a temporary post, to cover maternity leave, for approximately 6 months. This is a full-time post, 37 hours a week.
The postholder will work with our independent care providers to promote the delivery of good quality, safe services that focus on person centred care, promoting independence, dignity and choice.
We are looking for someone who can support independent care providers in their delivery of a high standard of care to adults who are assessed as having care & support needs. Promoting best practice and providing advice and guidance on all aspects of care provision.
You will need to have a thorough knowledge of the legislation, regulations, CQC standards and requirements that relate to providing care for adults.
You must be able to build positive relationships but also have the skills and confidence to respectfully challenge failing or unacceptable practice where appropriate. You will need to be able to identify issues in care delivery, broker solutions and be able to reflect back to the service their areas of strength and areas for development.
You will also need to be able to support registered managers and be prepared to work alongside staff in a care setting to observe behaviour, model good practice and support improvement.
You will enjoy a varied role that will continue to evolve and develop. This will include undertaking improvement and contract assurance visits, writing comprehensive reports and improvement plans, attending meetings with other professionals, and participating in wider duties of the team.
The role requires the ability to engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to identify, coordinate and deploy support.
You must have excellent communication skills, the resilience to work under pressure and be flexible in your approach.
You will also possess excellent skills in literacy, numeracy and ICT.
In this role you are required to travel to venues not accessible by public transport and work outside core hours on occasions.
