Room Leader – Permanent Position – Chelmsford

We are currently recruiting for a permanent Room Leader position within a welcoming and well‑established nursery in Chelmsford. This is an amazing opportunity for a dedicated early years professional who is ready to take the next step in their career or continue thriving in a Room Leader role within a supportive and forward‑thinking setting.
We understand that transitioning roles can take time, so while this Room Leader position is available to start straight away, we are happy to work with notice periods.
The Role – Room Leader
* Lead and inspire a team of practitioners within your designated room
* Ensure the highest standards of care, learning and development are delivered
* Plan and implement engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework
* Monitor, assess and record children’s progress
* Build strong partnerships with parents and carers
* Maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment
* Support the nursery management team with day‑to‑day room operations
Requirements
* A Level 3 qualification (or above) in Childcare / Early Years (essential)
* Previous experience working as a Room Leader or significant experience as a Senior Practitioner ready to step up
* Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework
* Excellent leadership and communication skills
* A passion for providing outstanding childcare
* A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
* The ability to work collaboratively within a team
