TEACHER OF ENGLISH MPS T1‑T9 (£32,916 - £51,048)
Actual salary £16,458 - £25,524 0.5 FTE Permanent contract. Start date 1 September 2026.
Qualifications and Experience
* Sound and developed knowledge of English and its examination specifications.
* Ability and/or experience to teach English at KS3 and KS4.
* Experience creating disciplined and stimulating learning environments where all students are well‑motivated.
* Passion for teaching and promoting the appreciation, understanding and enjoyment of the subject.
* Ability to monitor student progress and create opportunities for all to reach their full potential.
* Establishment of good working relationships with students, colleagues and the wider school community.
* Innovative use of available resources to support teaching and learning.
* Follow departmental schemes of work and assessments in planning.
* Regular assessment of student work, providing constructive feedback.
* Contribution to production of teaching resources and examination papers.
* Attendance at departmental meetings and contribution to departmental policy and developments.
* Attendance at evening meetings, including parent evenings, when required.
* Kept up‑to‑date records.
* Ensure that the Teachers' Standards are met or exceeded.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide and deliver engaging lessons at KS3 and KS4.
* Raise standards in teaching, learning and curriculum leading to better outcomes.
* Contribute to the well‑being of pupils as a form tutor and role model.
* Participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, training sessions and whole‑school initiatives.
* Contribute more widely to the well‑being of pupils, undertaking duties, and being a role model for learning and conduct.
