Overview
A Vacancy at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Admissions Officer in the Trauma and Orthopaedics Directorate at University Hospitals Dorset (UHD).
Trauma and Orthopaedics at UHD is a large and well established service. Trauma and paediatric surgery is undertaken on the Poole site, which is the largest fragility fracture centre in Europe with over 1200 patients attending per year requiring Neck or Femur surgery and a trauma bed base of over 100 beds. Elective orthopaedics is undertaken at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital with a dedicated ring fenced orthopaedic facility (the Derwent), which is supported by high acuity capacity in the main hospital. Elective operating capacity has recently been expanded with the establishment of a third theatre at the Derwent.
Expectations of the role
The successful candidate will join our well established admissions team and it is hoped they will be able to start as soon as possible.
* Reporting to the Admissions Team Lead, the role comprises all administrative procedures associated with the admission of planned elective orthopaedic surgery in line with local and national targets.
* The post holder will manage their own case load and maintain associated records.
There will be a site switch to Poole Hospital. Depending on the planned move, employees will not be eligible for excess mileage reimbursement. Travel from the postholder's home to the new work base will be considered a normal commute. Other changes not related to this relocation will be managed according to the relevant Trust or National terms and conditions.
