About This Role

This is your chance to make a real difference. We’re looking for an experienced, hands‑on Communications and Marketing Manager who is passionate about helping families access the support they need to give their children the best start in life.

As our Communications and Marketing Manager, you will shape how we tell HENRY’s story – reaching the families who need us most, inspiring commissioners to invest in our programmes and rallying supporters around our mission. You will work across the whole marketing and communications mix, combining hands‑on delivery with the ability to build and develop our communications approach as the organisation grows.

The team

You will join our Business Development team, working alongside our Head of Business Development, Commissioning & Partnerships Manager and Business Development Manager to help grow HENRY’s reach and impact. The Communications and Marketing Manager is line‑managed by the Head of Business Development. You will work closely with colleagues across HENRY’s national and local teams, as well as with external partners including commissioners and funders.

Work base and travel

Hybrid, with a minimum of twice a month at the National Office in Eynsham, Oxfordshire. There will be occasional travel to local delivery sites, with travel costs expensed.

Hours

This is a part‑time role (0.8) of 30 hours per week. Employees can take advantage of our flexitime hours, choosing when to work their hours between 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. each day.

Benefits package

* Part‑time salary of £28,483 (0.8 FTE), with opportunity for annual performance‑related pay increment
* 30 days annual leave per year plus bank holidays (pro‑rated)
* Flexitime hours and a flexible supportive approach to balancing work and life
* Enhanced Charity Sick Pay and family‑friendly leave (including 3 paid emergency dependants’ leave days per year, enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave)
* Access to a pension scheme with a matched employer contribution of up to 6%
* Employee Assistance Programme, giving free and confidential access to a variety of wellbeing support services.

Key responsibilities

Develop and Deliver Our Communications and Marketing Activity

* Develop and drive HENRY’s communications and marketing strategy, making sure it supports our mission to reach families who need us – with the support of the Head of Business Development.
* Set clear goals and track what’s working, reporting on progress to the Head of Business Development.
* Stay ahead of the curve – spotting new opportunities to amplify our impact and reach new audiences.
* Lead annual planning across HENRY as a national organisation, and working with local delivery sites.
* Champion fresh, creative approaches to communications that help us stand out and connect with our stakeholders, including creating content, designing marketing materials and planning our social media.

Shape How We Tell Our Story

* Design ways to hear from parents and practitioners, making sure their voices shape how we communicate.
* Gather GDPR‑compliant insights from families about what they need and what matters to them.
* Craft HENRY’s brand and messaging so we speak meaningfully to families, commissioners, funders and practitioners.
* Create tailored messaging that resonates with different audiences to help us grow our impact, reach and income.
* Create compelling, impactful content that positions HENRY as a leader in supporting families with young children.
* Keep our brand consistent and recognisable across everything we do and champion its protection internally and externally.

Support Our Growth

* Manage and grow our digital presence across web, social media and e‑mail. You will be hands‑on in building, scheduling and analysing our activity.
* Use data to understand what works and make smart decisions about where to focus our efforts and resources.
* Champion digital projects that make it easier for families to find and engage with us, and work with colleagues in relevant projects.
* Explore new digital tools that help us reach more families and supporters.
* Work together with our Business Development team to create materials, campaigns and pitches that raise awareness and win support and funding.
* Create and deliver market plans for each product/service line, specifically developing messaging and market positioning around our products.
* Create content that showcases our impact and helps secure the investment we need to grow.
* Build relationships with media and influencers who can help us reach decision‑makers.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

* Solid, proven experience in communications and marketing, ideally in the charity or public sector.
* Proven track record in crafting compelling messaging and storytelling around complex products and services.
* Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* An understanding of how communications fits into broader organisational goals, with the ability to plan and prioritise effectively.
* Natural relationship‑building skills – you can work with people at all levels.
* Brand development expertise and an eye for what makes organisations stand out.
* Strong digital communications skills (CMS, SEO, e‑mail marketing, social media, Google Analytics).
* Excellent writing, editing and storytelling ability with a strong eye for design and detail.
* Track record of managing external agencies and multiple stakeholders.
* Creative and proactive mindset.
* Brilliant writing and communication skills that bring stories to life.

Desirable

* Experience in health and/or early years.
* Understanding of how commissioning and fundraising work in charities.

This role requires a standard DBS check and satisfactory references as part of our commitment to safer recruitment.
