Job Overview
RELIEF Retail Security Officer positions in Southampton and Bournemouth areas. Pay: £13.97 per hour; paid breaks. Minimum one year of security experience and retail experience required. Must have a full UK driving licence and own vehicle as the role involves travel of approximately 30 miles each way. Shifts include Monday‑Saturday 08:00‑22:00 and Sunday 10:00‑17:00. Flexible to work any day/ time. Minimum eight‑hour contract, with a permanent weekly shift from Saturday 10:30‑21:00 in Southampton.
Main Duties
* Use ASCOne to maintain the security of the site.
* Conduct regular patrols of the site.
* Deliver customer service to staff and visitors.
* Support staff with reasonable requests.
* Ensure relevant reports are completed accurately.
Training and Development
Complete all required competency training and renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry. Undertake additional training as directed by the Operations Manager to ensure continuous self‑development. Maintain professional conduct and effective communication when interacting with store teams.
Security and Health & Safety
* Identify and report any health & safety hazards on site promptly.
* Stay alert to threats or changes within the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
* Be proactive and reactive in delivering customer service to diffuse situations and avoid escalation.
* Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
* Complete accurate incident entries on the system provided on site.
* Call emergency services and the Control Room to report all serious incidents.
