Purpose of the role
We are looking for someone to come and join us for 6 months working 1 day a week. This is a critical role providing communication leadership and guidance, to support the change and communication requirements to successfully deliver Project Orion. Partnering closely with other programme team members (including the Insurance Leadership team), the role will help ensure a smooth and supportive transition for the business and anyone impacted by the change programme. The role will lead, co-ordinate, deliver, enable and evaluate high quality communications, engagement and stakeholder management activity to inform, engage and support our people and our stakeholders through the change programme.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver change management strategy focusing around Project Orion activation, to facilitate and guide colleagues at all different levels
* Develop Change champion network of key promotors and supporters of change
* Liaise with Workstream leads to identify change requirements in their area and provide targeted communications to advise and educate users of the impact (5 W’s)
* Develop and deliver communication strategy alongside Internal Communications department
* Develop communication materials with Programme Manager as required eg stop, start, continue activities
Other Activities
* Attend regular programme meetings established to support the end-to-end management of the programme; ensure that the activities and progress underway in your workstream are clearly communicated to the Programme Manager.
* Lead, coordinate and deliver activities for your workstream, this includes planning, reporting and communications. This ensures that information and messaging can be escalated into the programme and cascaded down to the appropriate level.
* Ensure that the right resources and subject matter experts are available when required, and that delivery expectations / requirements are clear to them.
* Build collaborative working relationships with other workstreams to ensure that dependencies across the programme are managed to successful outcomes.
* Ensure that risks and issues are communicated timely to the Programme Manager and have proper mitigation / resolution activities in place. Own each risk until it is resolved and where necessary, escalate these to the Programme Manager, to ensure that these do not cause delays or become blockers to overall programme delivery.
* Use templates and reporting formats provided by the programme and ensure regular submission to required timescales. Information will have to consolidated from all the workstreams to provide the full picture across the programme.
Knowledge, skills and experience required
* You will be an experienced communicator with an understanding of project and change management theory and process and proven experience of delivering effective change communications and engagement and communications strategies.
* You will be able to organise, plan and deliver effective communications and engagement activities and able to use effective skills, tools, and approaches to tailor support to reactions and responses to organisational change.
* You will have experience in change management concepts and practices, design and delivery of communications and engagement strategies and managing people through business change
