Knowsley Council is seeking experienced and dedicated Child Protection Social Workers to join our team on a contract basis. Key Responsibilities
As a Child Protection Social Worker in Knowsley, your role will be centered on providing high-quality, effective social work services.
* Manage a complex and demanding caseload focused on Child Protection and Looked After Children.
* Conduct thorough single assessments and statutory visits to children and families.
* Develop and implement comprehensive Child Protection Plans and Care Plans.
* Prepare and present accurate, high-quality reports for Child Protection Conferences, Permanence Planning Meetings, and Court proceedings.
* Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, including health, police, and education, to ensure a coordinated response to risk.
* Participate in supervision, training, and continuous professional development (CPD).
* Maintain accurate and timely case recordings using electronic systems.
What We're Looking For
* Social Work Qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW).
* Current Social Work England registration (essential).
* Significant post-qualifying experience in a frontline statutory Child Protection team.
* Extensive knowledge of relevant childcare legislation and local authority processes.
* Ability to work autonomously, prioritize effectively, and manage high-risk situations
