Summary This position is initially for a 12 month period. The Manufacturing Engineer supports the planning, organisation, and execution of activities associated with manufacturing processes, from concept through to design, prototype, production, and commissioning. The role is responsible for maintaining high internal quality standards, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, and producing accurate SOP documentation for manufacturing operations. Main tasks & responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and implement efficient and cost-effective production methods for sub-components and final machine assemblies. Coordinate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues and implement root-cause corrective actions. Participate in new product introduction activities, including design-for-manufacture reviews, process establishment, and production launch. Create, maintain, and verify Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for both internal factory operations and external suppliers. Ensure all documentation is accurate, compliant, and reflective of best practice. Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) and report discrepancies to the BOM team. Lead and support time studies, workflow assessments, and production layout reviews. Implement and track Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and submit Engineering Change Requests (ECRs). Analyse operational issues and recommend process, quality, or safety improvements. Support standard work initiatives to improve safety, quality, and efficiency on the shop floor. Carry out additional tasks or projects as assigned by the Engineering Manager. Desired education & backgorund Completion of a Secondary School education or equivalency is required. The successful applicant should have previous experience in an equipment manufacturing environment, as well as: Knowledge of 3D cad packages and CAD. Must be able to work closely with others to collaborate on completion of common goals. Must be proficient in MS Office (including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Outstanding communication (oral/written) skills required. Practical Engineering experience. Self-motivated and organized.
