Calibration Technician
Location: Bradford, BD4
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
Salary: Up to £32k
Contract Type: Permanent
About the Role
We are recruiting a Calibration Technician to join a leading engineering organisation in Bradford. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the site-wide Calibration System, ensuring all measuring and test equipment meets internal quality requirements and external audit standards.
You will play a key part in supporting the Quality function, controlling calibration activity across the plant, and ensuring equipment compliance to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Calibration & Quality Control
Perform on-time calibration of all relevant measuring and test equipment
Maintain and update the calibration database with accurate records
Coordinate all external calibration work and liaise with suppliers
Measure and record samples as required
Produce scrap reports and maintain supporting documentation
Ensure compliance with internal Quality Management Systems (including TS16949 standards)
Support audits by ensuring full traceability of calibrated equipment
Safety & Housekeeping
Uphold health and safety standards at all times
Respond promptly to any H&S concerns within the work area
Risk, Equality & Compliance
Work in line with company risk-management policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with equality, diversity, and ethical employment standards
General Responsibilities
Routine visits to production areas
Carry out any reasonable duties aligned with the role and business needs
What We’re Looking For
Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship trained (or equivalent)
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar calibration or metrology role (advantageous)
Understanding of TS16949 or similar quality system requirements
Knowledge of associated calibration standards (Plug Gauges, Micrometers, Calipers, etc.)
IOSH “Working Safely” or similar qualification (advantageous)
Excellent attention to detail and record‑keeping accuracy
Working Environment
Mix of office and controlled factory floor work
Comfortable, air‑conditioned office space
Routine time spent in production areas (full PPE required)
