Data Analyst Apprentice Role Responsibility Expectations (RRE) Line Manager: Group Converting Manager Location: New Ellesmere Port (projects deployed across multiple sites) Role Purpose The Data Analyst Apprentice will work with cross-functional teams to deliver improvement projects that enhance converting and wider operational performance across the group. Reporting directly to the Group Converting Manager, the role will focus on developing and implementing improved communication tools, data-driven processes, and automation solutions. The role will involve the use of AI applications, HTML and Python coding, Power BI, and Microsoft applications to support operational efficiency, quality, safety, and cost reduction initiatives. Downtime Collation & Machine Learning Automate the capture of line stoppages, durations, and frequencies Implement operator reason-code selection via dropdown menus Output accurate, accessible data to support decision-making Improve: Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) Root cause analysis and preventative actions Cost per tonne Operator empowerment and productivity Production flow and inventory reduction 2. Machine Learning Process Mapping Analyse incoming paper parameters versus line settings and finished goods Support development of live tracking for: Line settings Mother reel loading/unloading Embossing paths and station usage Improve process capability, repeatability, and statistical accuracy 3. Quality Check Automation Convert paper-based quality systems into electronic solutions Link data to specifications and Process Fault Trees (PFTs) Enable remote monitoring and mandatory issue-resolution inputs Benefits include: Reduced waste and rework Improved traceability for audits Faster, more accurate quality checks Improved data retention and accessibility 4.
