Due to business growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Electrical Design Engineer at our Chandlers Ford site. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems and solutions for various projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, regulations, and project requirements. You will work closely with the solutions team, project managers, and project delivery teams to deliver high-quality electrical designs within budget and schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed electrical design calculations, drawings, and specifications, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., IEE, IEC, BS).
2. Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using CAD software.
3. Provide technical advice and guidance during all project phases, from concept to commissioning.
4. Review project plans, specifications, and proposals for compliance with electrical standards.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with projects.
6. Ensure all designs adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
7. Conduct load calculations and fault analysis to ensure system safety and reliability.
8. Perform risk assessments to identify hazards and develop mitigation solutions.
9. Assist with troubleshooting during testing phases.
10. Maintain records of designs, changes, and approvals.
11. Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders and clients.
12. Provide regular progress updates to the project team.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
* Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer with a portfolio of completed projects.
* Experience with electrical system design and relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical).
* Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety evaluations.
* Ability to work independently and under pressure.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
