The new Water, Land & Biodiversity (WLB) Asset Management Teams aim to improve management of WLB assets by implementing an asset management system that provides the framework, systems and processes for a whole lifecycle approach to the management of our assets, ensuring they are safe, effective and resilient and that our future investment requirements are fully understood.
Managing data about our assets is key to our vision of world class asset management. To achieve this, we need accurate and reliable asset data and information. To this end, we use AIMS:OM (Asset Information Management System, Operations and Maintenance) – which will transform how assets are currently managed within WLB. This role will include:
Supporting the WLB teams in being able to access the data they need, and cleansing, maintaining and improving the data we hold.
The team
You will be joining the Asset Management Team based across Newcastle and Darlington Offices including home and field-based working. The team are responsible for managing WLB assets including gauging stations, fish passes, boreholes, rain gauges. These assets provide data for water resources and flood risk purposes. you will also work with colleagues involved in asset management across multiple WLB teams (Area and National) as we journey towards integrated asset management.
Experience/skills Required
* Good communication skills
* Able to develop and maintain good relationships
* Ability to collate and interpret different sources of data in an accurate and efficient manner
* Deliver work by planning, tracking, gathering and maintaining data/information
* Work under own initiative and as part of a team to make decisions and achieve outcomes
* Organisational skills and an ability to use systems and applications
* Have an eye for detail, be efficient and able to persevere with tasks
You will be required to work alone so a good knowledge of health & safety is essential. You should be happy to work outside, in challenging weather conditions, all year round.
Experience in asset management and maintenance/project work is an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.

This data is used by multiple teams for many purposes, such as financial forecasting, maintenance planning, and compliance reporting. Please give examples from your previous experience where possible.

Description
The data we work with requires continuous improvement. Please give an example of when you have innovated to complete a large task efficiently and describe how you ensured quality.
