1:1 Teaching Assistant – SEND Location: Dudley Role: Full-time, Long-term ️ Start Date: April 2026 We are seeking a committed and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with complex needs and communication difficulties within a specialist SEND school in Dudley. About the Role In this position, you will work closely with an individual pupil, providing consistent and tailored support to help them access learning, build confidence, and develop essential communication and life skills. Key Responsibilities: Targeted Support: Deliver one-to-one and small group assistance to support engagement in learning Consistency & Commitment: Provide long-term stability for pupils who benefit from routine and structure Inclusive Approach: Foster a nurturing and respectful environment where every pupil feels valued and supported About the School Specialist provision for pupils with communication difficulties, sensory needs, and autism Warm, inclusive, and well-resourced environment Supportive and collaborative staff team focused on engagement, emotional wellbeing, and individual progress About You Experience supporting children with SEND—particularly those with complex needs or communication difficulties—is highly desirable Relevant qualifications (e.g. Health & Social Care, Youth Work, Supporting Teaching & Learning) are advantageous but not essential Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport Able to provide suitable references and obtain an Enhanced DBS check ✔️ *All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
