Offer description

About us We are a boutique accountancy practice based in a beautifully converted barn just north of Bristol. Our clients are primarily ambitious owner-managed businesses, and we take real pride in helping them grow and succeed.

At Frost Wiltshire, we combine the professionalism and experience you would expect from a large firm with the warmth, personality and flexibility of a small one. We care about our work, our clients, and being a strong team who look out for each other. We believe exceptional results are achieved when people enjoy working together.

Our office is modern, relaxed and welcoming (think high-end finishes in a wonderfully wonky old stone barn). We’re also proudly paperless and technology-driven, always looking for better ways to serve our clients.

Why we’re hiring We’re growing - and it’s an exciting time for the firm.

Our client portfolio continues to expand, and we are building a team that can support our ambitious plans for the future. This brand new role will play a key part in helping us deliver that growth.

You’ll work closely with the leadership team, helping manage a portfolio of clients while contributing to the continued development of the practice.

Reasons this is an amazing place to work We think we’ve created something quite special here, and it’s difficult to capture it fully in a list.

We’re a professional firm, but never stuffy. We hold ourselves to high standards and take pride in the quality of what we deliver, but we do it in a way that feels natural, relaxed and human. There’s a genuine warmth in the team - people enjoy working together, support each other, and share a common goal of doing great work for clients.

A big part of our culture is that we focus on outcomes rather than rigid structures. It’s not about clock-watching; it’s about doing the right thing for our clients and for each other. That means being flexible - both in how we work and how we support one another - and trusting everyone to take ownership of their responsibilities.

We believe the working environment should feel relaxed, supportive and engaging. We’re a friendly, close-knit team, and we’ve built an environment where people feel at ease.

Our clients value this approach too - we build strong relationships, we’re responsive and practical, and we take the time to really understand their businesses. It’s important to us that we work with people we like, and the feeling is very much mutual.

And yes - there are also some nice touches: a garden for when the weather plays along, a fridge stocked with soft drinks, and a freezer full of ice creams.

The package The package includes:

Competitive salary (dependent on experience)

Workplace pension

Discretionary bonus

Life insurance

Free car parking

Some working from home

Support for professional development

The perfect candidate You will be someone who takes pride in delivering outstanding work while enjoying being part of a close-knit team.

You are reliable, committed and ambitious. You take a flexible approach to work - understanding that this works both ways - and you are motivated by getting the job done well rather than watching the clock. You are hardworking, willing to take responsibility, and take genuine pride in what you do. You care about your clients, your colleagues and the firm as a whole, and you place real importance on quality, accuracy and attention to detail. Just as importantly, you’re someone who contributes positively to the team and is good to have around the office.

You will ideally:

Be ACA or ACCA qualified

Be a strong communicator with clients and colleagues

Be comfortable working with modern technology

Have strong technical account preparation experience, including FRS 102 and FRS 105, and sole traders

Have experience preparing group consolidations

Enjoy working with owner-managed businesses

Have experience of managing a portfolio of clients

Have experience of leading or contributing to client meetings

A typical week No two weeks look exactly the same, which is part of what makes the role so engaging.

You might start the week catching up with the team on recent client wins and priorities, followed by one of our regular team meetings where we review progress against the month’s plan and talk through any challenges. If the weather’s kind, those conversations might even take place outside in the garden.

During the week, you might find yourself heading out to Bristol for a client meeting with a colleague, or back in the office working on a consolidation or preparing some statutory accounts. You might also spend some time contributing to a proposal for a prospective new client, or attending a training session to further develop your skills.

Client interaction is a big part of the role - whether that’s responding to emails, meeting clients who visit the office, or working with our Client Experience Manager to identify opportunities for continuously improving our service.

There’s a good balance of technical work, client-facing time and collaboration with the team – and importantly, you’ll have ownership of your schedule and the flexibility to manage your time effectively.

The nitty gritty You’ll be predominantly based at our fantastic barn conversion in Latteridge, conveniently located just north of the Almondsbury Interchange, with occasional visits to client sites as part of the role.

We operate as a fully paperless, technology-driven firm, so you’ll be working with modern systems and processes throughout. The role also offers the flexibility of working from home one day a week.

Ideally, we’re looking for someone who can join us as soon as possible. This is a newly created position, reflecting our continued growth, rather than a replacement role.

Next steps If this sounds like the sort of place where you’d enjoy working - and being part of an exciting growth journey - we’d love to hear from you.

We’re looking forward to meeting someone who shares our values, enjoys working with great clients, and wants to be part of building something special at Frost Wiltshire.
