This is very much a hands-on role and is ideal for a motivated individual looking to make a significant impact in a warehouse setting. Working within a small friendly team. The Warehouse Manager at Fitness Superstore, will Supervise and support warehouse staff to maximise productivity and efficiency. Manage attendance, breaks, and shift coverage, including holiday and sickness management. Conduct return-to-work interviews, probation reviews, and provide coaching to develop team members. Liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies. Coordinate and monitor the receipt, handling and dispatch of goods. Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met. Have a clear understanding of the companys policies and how the warehouse contributes to these. Coordinate the use of automated and computerised systems where necessary. Keep stock control systems up-to-date and make sure inventories are accurate. Plan future capacity requirements. Organise the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress. Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded. Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment. Oversee the planned maintenance of machinery and equipment. The successful Warehouse Manager will have At least 3 years experience of working in a Warehouse Manager role. Experience with WMS systems for the purpose of inventory management, receiving stock and despatching orders. Great communication skills. People management skills, including the ability to inspire, lead and motivate a team of people, delegate work and explain ideas. Teamworking skills. Planning and organising skills to effectively manage the flow of stock. Accuracy and attention to detail. Initiative and decisiveness. Problem-solving skills. The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. A flexible approach to work. Knowledge of the legal requirements of operating a warehouse. Possession of a counterbalance forklift licence, Pivot Steer, (Bendi/Flexi) and Truck Licence would be advantageous too.
