A high-achieving and supportive secondary school in York is seeking a passionate Music Teacher to join their vibrant Performing Arts faculty. The role commences in September 2025 and offers an excellent platform to develop both classroom and extracurricular music programmes.
Role Overview:
Teaching Music from KS3 through to KS5, you will deliver an engaging curriculum encompassing performance, composition, music technology, and theory. You will also be expected to contribute to school productions and concerts.
Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across a broad range of musical styles and skills

Direct ensembles, choirs, and bands, fostering student confidence and teamwork
*
Organise concerts, recording projects, and participation in local music festivals
*
Integrate technology into music teaching, including digital audio workstations
*
Collaborate with peripatetic staff and local music organisations
Candidate Profile:
*
QTS and degree in Music or a related discipline
*
Strong practical skills on at least one instrument; conducting experience an advantage
*
Creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching music technology and composition
*
Committed to nurturing students’ individual talents and creativity
