About the role:
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Plumbing / BSE to join our Construction and Building Services department at The Bedford College group.
As a lecturer, you will play a vital role in student success through:
* Preparing, delivering, and assessing courses, with a focus on BSE.
* Undertaking necessary course administration.
* Leading and contributing to curriculum development within the Programme Area/Centre.
* Carrying out course leadership duties when appropriate.
* Teaching various qualification types and levels, especially BSE.
* Providing 1:1 support and mentoring for students as part of tutorials.
* Maintaining current industry knowledge and contributing to innovative, standards-compliant teaching.
* Developing and maintaining schemes of work.
* Planning and preparing lessons.
* Researching and developing new topics and resources, including online materials.
* Participating in internal verification/moderation activities as required.
* Monitoring, assessing, and grading student work.
* Organizing work experience and conducting workplace assessments where appropriate.
* Promoting safeguarding and welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, and reporting concerns per College procedures.
* Promoting equality and diversity.
* Following health and safety policies.
* Engaging in ongoing training and professional development.
About you:
* Trade Advanced Craft / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
* Willing to attain Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent if not already achieved.
* Experience teaching in an FE environment, particularly in BSE up to Level 3.
* Proven high performance in previous roles.
* Ability to support high-quality learning experiences and create a supportive environment.
* Ability to maintain appropriate relationships with students and vulnerable adults.
* Willingness to update skills and knowledge continuously.
