Head of Primary English – White Rose Education
This hybrid role is based in White Rose Education offices in Halifax and Leeds with a minimum of two days per week in the office. The position is full‑time and operates throughout the year.
Responsibilities
* Lead the design, development and evaluation of the White Rose Primary English curriculum, resources, assessment and oracy materials.
* Manage, mentor and develop the Primary English Specialist team, providing leadership, coaching and professional development.
* Produce high‑quality curriculum resources and CPD content to support teachers and school leaders.
* Work with individual teachers and school leaders to audit current practice, plan improvements and deliver CPD.
* Provide strategic advice to schools and the Trust on curriculum, assessment and professional development for Primary English.
* Represent White Rose Education externally in partnership and research initiatives.
* Develop and launch new initiatives and innovations in Primary English across schools and other settings.
* Lead research and stay current with national curriculum reform and educational trends.
Qualifications and Experience
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and successful completion of the Early Career Teacher (ECT) assessment.
* Degree level education.
* Extensive experience in Primary English teaching, with evidence of effective classroom practice.
* Demonstrated subject leadership and experience of curriculum development.
* Experience in resource and CPD development for teachers.
* Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum, curriculum research, assessment and oracy for Primary English.
* Excellent communication, team‑working, and managerial skills.
* Strong record of professional development and professional membership in subject organisations.
