Job Title: Finance Administrator (Payroll) Location: York Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum Hours: 37 hours per week Monday to Friday - Flexible start and finish time Our Client - Our client is a long established professional services organisation supporting a broad range of clients across multiple sectors. About the role – This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in payroll. As Finance Administrator (Payroll), you will support the payroll team in delivering accurate and timely payroll for a range of clients. You will gain hands on experience across routine payroll tasks, statutory requirements and liaising with relevant authorities. This role is ideal for someone organised, detail oriented and motivated to learn, with a proactive approach to working both independently and as part of a supportive team. Duties as Finance Administrator (Payroll) – Assist with the preparation and processing of payroll for a variety of clients. Support compliance with payroll documentation, including starters, leavers and statutory requirements. Help administer pensions and related enrolment processes. Assist with statutory payments such as sick pay, maternity pay and deductions. Support year-end payroll processes and associated reporting. Liaise with relevant authorities regarding payroll queries as required. Assist with bookkeeping and reporting related to payroll. Skills – Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly with numerical data. A willingness to learn payroll processes, prior experience is desirable but not essential, candidates with strong administrative or support lead backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Good written and verbal communication skills with a professional approach. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in an office environment. Familiarity with Excel and payroll/accounting software is a plus, but training will be provided.
