High-Tech SME business requires a Strategic Procurement Manager. Applicants need experience in cost down activities, negotiating supplier agreements and contracts, and identifying / selecting new supply chain partners.
A product, engineering led environment the Strategic Procurement Manager will be responsible for driving cost-down activities across new/existing ranges, alongside negotiating supplier agreements and contracts, with new/existing supply chain partners. The Strategic Procurement Manager will work closely with stakeholders in Quality and Project Management, while be supported by (but not managing) Operational Buyers.
Specific duties of the Strategic Procurement Manager include:
Identify, evaluate and select new suppliers and supply chain partners
Conduct cost-down activity on new and existing product ranges
Negotiate and manage supplier agreements and contracts
Supplier performance management and development activities
Socialise with the supplier landscape - attend trade shows and understand changes in the market
Stakeholder collaboration - Quality, Projects, Operations
Strategic Procurement Manager applicants should meet the following criteria:
Procurement experience within manufacturing or engineering
Experience across both mechanical and electronic supply chains, would be advantageous
Strong knowledge of UK and international suppliers
Strong negotiation and contract management skills - ability to establish supplier agreements and contracts
A motivated self-starter, who can thrive in an SME environment
