Job Summary: The Applications Engineer - Gas Engine Controls will support and lead the development of control systems for power driven by reciprocating gas engines. Key responsibilities include retrofitting and converting control systems to programmable controls, with a focus on multipoint injection controls, gas valve equipment, and auxiliary control systems such as PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, AVR’s, protective relays, and power management controls. The engineer will manage projects from conception through design, testing, onsite commissioning, and documentation. Additionally, inspecting and testing electrical systems to identify hazards, defects, and necessary repairs is required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Manage complex site applications from start to completion, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
* Supervise and develop junior engineers and field service engineers
* Serve as a subject matter expert in applications engineering
* Develop new and special applications
* Assist in developing standards and processes
* Champion products within the client organization
* Inspect electrical systems and components for hazards and compliance
* Troubleshoot electrical machinery and systems
* Install and replace electrical/electronic components
* Design and test engine safety control systems
* Maintain documentation and drawings
* Report activities and findings per standards
* Perform additional duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Master's level knowledge in relevant technical applications
* Experience with automation control systems and instrumentation
* PLC/HMI/SCADA programming skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Self-starting ability and good interpersonal skills
* Strong communication skills in English; Spanish a plus
* Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent + 5 years relevant experience, or 12 years industry experience
* Valid US Driver's License and Passport
