SALARY: £31,537 to £51,357 per annum (depending on experience) + Benefits
LOCATION: Hybrid working - you can work both from home and the office in Wokingham, as well as visits.
There will be substantial site-based work, and you will need to be contributing to the duty rota, therefore you will ideally be locally based, or have the ability to be within 30mins of Wokingham on a day to day basis.

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Environmental Health Officer / Enforcement Officer supporting environmental protection across a varied caseload.
As an Environmental Health Officer / Enforcement Officer you will carry out inspections, manage complaints and undertake investigations relating to nuisance, pollution control and contaminated land, contributing to a safer and healthier environment.
The Environmental Health Officer / Enforcement Officer role also involves engaging with residents, businesses and partner agencies, preparing statutory notices and supporting legal proceedings, ensuring professional, effective and customer-focused service delivery.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Environmental Health Officer / Enforcement Officer include:
Carrying out Inspections: Conduct compliance inspections and reactive investigations
Managing Casework: Handle a varied caseload of environmental protection enquiries
Preparing Documentation: Produce statutory notices, schedules, inspection reports and evidence
Supporting Legal Action: Prepare prosecution reports and assist with legal proceedings
Engaging Stakeholders: Work with residents, businesses and external agencies
Providing Technical Input: Support planning consultations and private water supply assessments
Specialist Responsibility: At senior level, oversee an Environmental Health specialism
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Ability to Prioritise Work: Plan, organise and manage a busy and varied workload
Strong Communication Skills: Communicate clearly with a wide range of audiences
Influencing Skills: Negotiate and encourage positive behaviour change
Digital Competence: Use computerised information and case management systems
Relevant Qualification: Possession of or working towards an Environmental Health qualification
Driving Licence: Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits
