We're looking for a reliable, motivated Chef to join our friendly contract catering team at a busy education site in Reading. This role is perfect for someone who wants great work-life balance with Monday-Friday daytime hours and term-time only working .
?? The Role
Salary: £25,000 per year
Monday to Friday
7:00am - 3:30pm
40 hours per week
38 weeks per year
(term time + inset days)
Supporting a busy kitchen producing 300+ covers per day
?? Key Responsibilities
Preparing fresh, nutritious meals for students and staff
Supporting the Chef Manager with daily operations
Ensuring food safety, allergen compliance and kitchen hygiene standards
Helping with menu prep, service, and occasional themed days
Working efficiently in a high-volume environment
?? About You
Previous experience as a Chef in contract catering, education, or similar environment
Strong kitchen skills and ability to work at pace
Reliable, positive, and a good team player
Passion for delivering consistent, high-quality food
