TIG Welder (Aerospace) - Derby - Day Shift - Full Time - £36,500/£18.01p/h - Permanent
We are currently recruiting for an experienced TIG Welder to join a well-established manufacturing company within the aerospace industry based in Derby. This is a full time, permanent opportunity offering long-term stability, structured training, and the chance to work on high-specification aerospace components. Best suiting a skilled TIG welder with experience working to tight tolerances who enjoys precision work, problem-solving, and working within a quality-driven manufacturing environment.
About the role:
You will be responsible for the TIG welding of aluminium aircraft components, ensuring all work is completed to strict aerospace standards. You will be working from engineering drawings, using measuring equipment, and supporting wider manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.
SHIFT: Day shift: Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 4:00pm | Friday 7:30am - 12:30pm
Key Responsibilities
TIG welding of aluminium aircraft components
Adjusting sheet metal parts to fit welding jigs
Using measuring equipment to ensure components meet drawing specifications
Working from engineering drawings and work instructions
Working to extremely tight tolerances, on small components
Supporting continuous improvement, energy reduction and efficiency initiativesThe Ideal Candidate
Proven experience as a TIG Welder, ideally within a high precision environment
Strong aluminium welding experience, particularly with thin gauge materials
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Experience using basic fabrication tools and measuring equipment
Good practical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively within a team to meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail and commitment to qualityDesirable (for top salary bracket):
Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques
Experience working to ISO standards (ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 / 50001)
Previous experience within aerospace or similar high-spec industriesWhat's On Offer
