Geotechnical Engineer Opportunity
I am seeking a Geotechnical Engineer with experience in detailed or preliminary design, looking to develop skills on complex projects across rail, highways, buildings, and bridges.
You will join an award-winning SME multidisciplinary design consultancy with multiple UK offices, working alongside a team of chartered engineers in Geotechnical, Civil, and Structural disciplines.
The role offers diverse technical and commercial responsibilities, managing projects from inception to completion. Responsibilities include:
1. Interpretation and design of slope assessments, soil analysis, pile design, settlement, slope stability, soil nailing, rock engineering, shallow and deep footings, embankments, and retaining walls.
2. Reviewing ground risk and providing technical support on ground risk assessments.
The ideal candidate (Intermediate-Senior) should demonstrate:
* An MEng/BEng in Civil Engineering, Geology, or related fields; an MSc in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or Soil Mechanics is preferred.
* Experience in delivering geotechnical design for various projects.
* Ability to conduct inspections, feasibility studies, prepare reports, and estimate costs.
* Proficiency in preparing design calculations, drawings, technical documents, and ensuring compliance with standards.
* Knowledge of industry-standard geotechnical and numerical software (desirable).
* Experience in preparing, reviewing, and checking technical reports, including Desk Studies and Design reports.
