From hyper‑acute assessment to complex rehab and discharge planning every day matters. We have a fantastic opportunity for a senior Occupational Therapist to join our stroke and neurology team here at Mid Yorks on a fixed term basis (to cover maternity leave). The team have occupational therapists and physiotherapists who work across our Pinderfields and Dewsbury sites, working on the acute stroke, neurology and rehab wards. You will have the opportunity to work on and gain experience on both units.
You will work alongside experienced senior staff, gaining skills in the assessment and treatment of patients following a stroke and neurological event, in both an acute / hyper acute setting and rehab setting. As an Occupational Therapist on the acute stroke and neurology unit you will work within the hyper acute setting, assessing patients in the initial hours following their stroke, and also work with patients on their ongoing inpatient rehab on both A2 and ward 5 and 6, including use of rehab techniques and complex discharge planning.
You will be required to supervise staff and students.
