We are currently seeking a dedicated Bookkeeper to join our accountancy practice based in Reigate. This role offers the opportunity to work within a professional team, providing comprehensive bookkeeping services to a diverse client portfolio.
Day to day of the role:
* Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers for clients.
* Process financial transactions including sales and purchase invoices.
* Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile financial discrepancies.
* Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations.
* Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
* Manage payroll processing for clients, including PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions.
* Liaise with clients to gather financial data, receipts, and other documentation.
* Provide support during year-end processes and liaise with accountants for the preparation of annual accounts.
* Utilise bookkeeping software efficiently, ensuring that all financial data is entered correctly and in a timely manner.
* Offer financial administrative support as needed, including filing and managing client queries.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven bookkeeping experience, preferably within an accountancy practice.
* Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
* Proficiency in bookkeeping software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Knowledge of VAT, payroll processing, and other financial regulations.
* Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to handle multiple clients and adapt to varying business needs.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
