We are seeking anIMRDS Training and Development Managerto lead the delivery of an efficient,customer‑focusedoperational training programme across our Alliances. Reporting to the Head of Programme Optimisation, this is a key leadership role responsible for onboarding, competence management, accreditationcomplianceand future capability development.
You will lead a team of Training and Development professionals and act as thecentral pointof intelligence for training demand, skills matrices, qualificationrenewalsand workforce capability insight. Using data, digitaltoolsand stakeholder collaboration, you will ensure training provision is consistent, compliant,forward‑lookingand aligned to operational and regulatory needs.
This role also plays a critical part in shaping future workforce capability through strategic planning,Resource Management,external benchmarking and strong partnerships with accreditation and awarding bodies.
Key Responsibilities
You will lead and optimise the coordination of operational training and onboarding activity, ensuring all personnel follow the correct learning pathways aligned to skills,standardsand accreditation requirements. You willmaintaina single,accurateview of workforce competence across the Alliances, proactively managing renewals and compliance risks while providing clear performance insight and assurance reporting.
You will work closely with People Development, Operational Learning Teams, partners, SMEs and operational leaders to design, enhance andquality‑assuretraining programmes, ensuring consistency,relevanceand effectiveness across all Alliances. You will use data and forecasting insight toidentifycurrent and future capability gaps, inform workforceplanningand deliver targeted upskilling programmes to address priority risks.Additionally, you will build visibility of all resources across the alliance and make recommendations onoptimalresource levels.
You will manage key external relationships with accreditation and awarding bodies, ensuring compliance with standards, monitoring sector developments and embedding emerging requirements into training pathways and planning. As a people leader, you will develop and motivate ahigh‑performingTraining Coordination Team, driving service excellence, continuousimprovementand digitalisation.
You will champion Anglian Water’s SaferEvery Dayculture, ensuringhigh standardsof health and safety compliance across all training and coordination activity.
What Does It Take to Be an IMRDS Training and Development Manager?
1. Proven experience leading operational training,learningor workforce development in a complex environment
