This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive specialist setting in the beautiful New Forest, close to the coast. Staff here work together to provide a calm, structured environment where learners can grow in confidence, communication and independence.
This full-time Senior Teaching Assistant role offers an immediate start, supporting secondary-aged learners within small, well-staffed classes.
You will work closely with teachers to help students access a tailored curriculum through structured routines and personalised strategies. As a senior member of the support team, you will also play a key part in guiding and mentoring new Teaching Assistants and contributing to curriculum development, especially around communication and literacy.
Key responsibilities:
* Support students with autism in their learning and emotional wellbeing
* Assist teachers with planning and delivering lessons
* Help develop curriculum materials and activities
* Mentor and coach new Teaching Assistants
* Line manage a small group of TAs
* Build strong, positive relationships with learners and colleagues
* Support behaviour plans and independence-building activities
* Help create memorable, engaging learning experiences

Candidate Requirements
* Minimum 6 months’ childcare experience, ideally with SEN
* Must drive due to the school’s rural location
* Positive, patient and passionate about helping young people
* Strong communicator and reliable team player
* Creative, flexible and proactive
* Confident supporting behaviour needs
* Keen to develop professionally

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
