Ackerman Pierce is currently supporting a leading local authority within Lewisham to recruit for a Advanced Practitioner in the Child Protection Team. This will be on a permanent basis paying £54,684 - £56,733 P/Annum.Responsibilities include:
* To work closely with the Lead Operational Manager and Principal Social Worker to address learning needs, ensure access to relevant training and monitor CPD requirements across the service.
* To take a lead role in a specialist area of practice that aligns with service needs and priorities. This will include the Assessed and Supported Year in Experience (ASYE) as well as other core practice areas.
* To undertake complex and demanding adult mental health case work that requires a high level of social work expertise and knowledge, in order to provide adults with the best possible outcomes.
* To supervise, support, advice and mentor students and Newly Qualified and less experienced staff in Complex/High Risk cases. This will include authorising assessments, plans and other documents and chairing multidisciplinary and multi-agency meetings.
* To support, advice and mentor Senior Social Workers to ensure understanding and compliance with legislation, statutory guidance, local procedures, and guidance in relation to safeguarding vadults and applying current social work practice requirements and professional framework.
* To model and support others to deliver relationship-based, evidence-based and reflective practice which is congruent with the vision, values, practice framework that meets the expected practice standards.
* To promote effective participation and engagement with people with lived experience and their carers. Leading on seeking feedback in order to learn and deliver good outcomes.
* To work closely with the Lead Operational Manager, Principal Social Worker, and other Advanced Practitioners to create and promote learning opportunities, ensure access to relevant training across the service.
* To take a lead role in a specialist area of practice such as domestic abuse, court work, mental capacity, mental health, family group conferences, continuing health care or restorative practice etc.
* To co-facilitate group supervision, reflective practice sessions and practice development sessions within the team/service.
* To act as a practice leader and Safeguarding Adults Manager for Safeguarding Adults procedures and contribute to the overall implementation of required updates and changes. To work closely with MASH team and Slam safeguarding leads and identify key learning points to improve practice.
* To act as a Practice Educator and be willing to undertake the PEPS in the first 6-months in their role and offer learning opportunities within the team as required.
* To support social workers to write complex reports, such as court reports or MH Tribunals reports.
* To deputise for the Manager when required to do so by the Head of Service.
* To support the Team Manager and Principal Social Worker in improving performance management and quality assurance.
* To undertake duties as an Approved Mental Health Professional or Best Interest Assessor on a rota basis, where qualified to do so.
Experience Required:
* The post holder must have a social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England.
* Minimum 2 years’ senior experience in Mental Health Social Work.
* Demonstrable post qualifying experience of at least two years of working with children and families or be able to demonstrate expertise at a senior level.
