An exciting opportunity has arisen for Casual Enablement Care Workers in our Keep Independent Through Enablement Team (KITE).
About KITE: KITE provides short-term support to people in their own homes, helping them meet set goals and maintain as much independence as possible. Our service is designed for individuals who have been discharged from hospital or whose health and ability has deteriorated. The KITE service is registered and regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and operates throughout the year.
As a Casual Enablement Care Worker, you will play a crucial role in assisting and supporting individuals to build their confidence and become more independent over a time-limited period. You will need to be positive, encouraging, and able to motivate people to work towards agreed goals.
You will work closely with Therapists and Enablement Officers, providing care in Roehampton, Putney, Earlsfield, Southfields, and Central Wandsworth.

KITE is committed to delivering high-quality care and support to individuals in their own homes. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Casual Enablement Care Worker to join our team.
As a casual Enablement Care Worker, your role will include:
* Supporting individuals in their daily activities to regain independence, such as meal preparation, personal care, and managing their own medication.
* Collaborating with families, enablement officers, managers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe, effective, responsive, and caring service.
* Supporting in developing personalized care plans to meet the specific goals for each individual.
* Delivering care with compassion and empathy, respecting the personal dignity of individuals.
* Reporting signs of abuse and identified risks to the appropriate professionals.
* Monitoring and reporting any changes in health status to health or social care professionals.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
* NVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or willingness to work towards this.
* Commitment to continual professional development through training.
Skills:
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to use technology such as smartphones.
* Motivating others and helping to build their confidence.
* Ability to identify health and safety concerns in a person’s home, follow risk assessments, and escalate as needed.
* Respect for diverse backgrounds and needs, with a willingness to learn how to meet those needs.
Experience:
* Knowledge of the Care Quality Commission Essential Standards.
* Some knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Adult Social Care Workers.
* Understanding of the principles of enablement—support and assist people rather than doing things for them.
