Finance Manager (Qualified), Age UK, Northumberland - 3 days per week £65k pro rata (£40k for 3 days)

Salary: up to .£65,000 (pro rata) for part time – 3 Days per week – Hybrid
Age UK Northumberland is a local charity dedicated to supporting older people across Northumberland. We provide a wide range of services including personal care, befriending, information and advice, and community-based activities. Our aim is to promote independence, reduce loneliness, and improve wellbeing in later life.
We are now seeking a qualified and experienced Finance Manager to lead our finance function. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the role is responsible for delivering accurate, timely financial reporting and supporting strategic decision-making across the organisation. You will also provide business partnering to the senior leadership team and maintain oversight of financial systems, controls, and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing all day-to-day finance operations
* Producing monthly management accounts and detailed variance analysis
* Preparing annual budgets, reforecasts and statutory accounts
* Overseeing payroll for approximately 270 staff and a £5.5m wage bill
* Managing banking relationships and liaising with auditors, investment managers and insurers
* Supporting risk management and compliance, including Health & Safety record-keeping
* Leading and developing a small finance team
What we're looking for:
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT or equivalent)
* Strong technical skills in management accounting, budgeting, and cash flow management
* Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues
* Line management experience and the ability to support and develop others
* Knowledge of charity finance or experience in a not-for-profit setting would be beneficial
