Interested in Primary Care Mental Health? Would you like to be a part of a Primary Care Mental Health service in Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership?

Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership extends over 6,700 square kilometres with 23 inhabited islands and around 17% of the population lives on islands and with a coastline of more than 3,000km almost 80% of the population lives within one kilometre of the sea. There are 33 GP practices in Argyll and Bute with a registered patient population of 88,657 as at 1st of April 2018 As part of the Primary Care Modernisation Programme we continue to develop the Primary Care Mental Health Service and are working to closely align with General Practice in Argyll and Bute HSCP.

The opportunity for a Specialist Mental Health Occupational Therapist post in the Cowal & Bute area is available. Enthusiastic, confident & experienced individuals with an interest in working in this field are invited to apply. The main aim of the Primary Care Mental Health Team will be to increase access to evidenced based psychological therapies supporting common mental health conditions with improved patient outcomes. In addition to delivering low intensity psychological interventions both individually and in groups the successful candidate will have a strong interest in promoting vocational activities and supporting re enablement

You will have a Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy, excellent communication skills and an ability to work as part of a Multi-disciplinary team. A minimum of 3 years experience in a mental health setting, preferably Primary Care Mental or Community Mental Health setting, is desirable as well as a positive attitude to people with mental health problems. You will be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and have continued to develop your clinical skills, especially for working with mild to moderate mental health issues and using low intensity psychological therapies such as Behavioural activation and delivery of therapeutic and psycho educational groups.

Computer literacy and driving licence essential.
