Dearboy Petcare is a brand-new manufacturer of high-quality pet food, based in Wrexham. The business will serve natural and nutritious pet food to pet owners in the UK and globally.

The Role – MSK Engineer

Reporting to our Engineering Manager, you will work as part of a flexible team to provide technical and engineering support to keep the site running efficiently. This includes identifying areas for engineering improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and safety, while ensuring compliance with current legislation.

You will work closely with our automation equipment from European suppliers, developing knowledge to get involved with machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Ensuring production downtime is minimized by completing planned and preventative maintenance on equipment such as Siemens PLC systems, conveyor systems, boilers, depositors, packing systems, robotic tray sealing machines, jet printers, etc.
* Managing reactive maintenance and responding to breakdowns.
* Performing daily strip-down and rebuild of machines after cleaning.
* Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety procedures and maintaining technical standards.
* Contributing to the construction of a preventative maintenance programme.
* Identifying and implementing improvements.
* Training and mentoring team members as the team evolves.

The Package

As a MSK Engineer at our new facility on Wrexham Industrial Estate, benefits include:

* Permanent full-time contract with initial 8-hour shifts, moving towards a 6-day operation (details to be discussed).
* Starting salary in the region of £44,000 to £48,000, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
* Paid overtime where applicable.
* 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with time off in lieu for bank holiday work.

Requirements:

* Proven experience with planned and preventative maintenance, preferably in food manufacturing.
* Experience with PLC systems and automated robotics machinery.
* Exceptional electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Understanding of PPM systems in an FMCG environment.
* Minimum BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in Engineering.
* Proactive, flexible, and hands-on approach to work.
