About the role:
The Generative AI Platform Principal Product Manager will lead the strategic direction and alignment of Generative AI (GAI) capabilities, supporting the development of advanced GAI solutions across the Elsevier portfolio. This role involves collaborating closely with product, technology, and data science leaders to define and deliver a cohesive technology strategy that drives revenue growth and meets portfolio needs. The role is essential for establishing a sustainable GAI strategy for Elsevier.
About the team:
This position is part of the Knowledge Discovery Platform team. The role involves leading the strategic direction of GAI capabilities, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop solutions, and promoting the adoption of GAI technologies within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with Product, Technology, and Data Science leaders to articulate a clear vision, strategy, and shared roadmap for the GAI platform.
2. Define objectives and key results (OKRs) to evaluate the GAI platform's impact through data-driven metrics, ensuring alignment with business goals.
3. Coordinate strategic planning across the portfolio, balancing short-term and long-term priorities, and establish feedback loops with internal clients to identify emerging needs and opportunities.
4. Drive progress and alignment across various Technology squads contributing to the GAI roadmap. Collaborate with Product Managers and their teams to provide strategic guidance and mentorship, ensuring successful outcomes.
5. Act as primary contact for the Health Solutions team, supporting the discovery and execution of their GAI initiatives and leading optimization projects as required.
6. Facilitate governance processes and reporting at the CTO level to maintain transparency, accountability, and alignment with organizational objectives.
7. Promote awareness of GAI platform capabilities and drive adoption by developing training materials, onboarding resources, and a clear operating model.
8. Champion the application of Responsible AI Principles in accordance with Elsevier’s guidelines and policies.
9. Represent Elsevier at speaking engagements and conferences, effectively promoting the company's vision and GAI capabilities.
10. Stay informed about emerging industry trends to guide product development and discovery efforts.
11. Collaborate closely with peers across the organization to ensure that both internal and external customer needs are prioritized, fostering a customer-centric culture.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience in leading product management for highly technical capabilities or platform products.
2. Demonstrated success in driving strategic initiatives and developing roadmaps for complex projects of similar size and scope.
3. Significant exposure to AI, particularly Generative AI technologies, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technologists and business leaders.
4. Strong interpersonal skills to engage, influence, and build trust with teams, customers, and stakeholders at all levels within a global matrixed organization.
5. Experience in product innovation, discovery, development, and delivery within an Agile environment.
6. Expertise in methodologies for enhancing GAI quality.
7. Familiarity with navigating the rapidly evolving GAI regulatory landscape.
