Job Introduction
We have 2 full-time roles (1 covering north Wiltshire and 1 covering south Wiltshire). As a Materials Management Officer (MMO), you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care and services to support individuals and teams. Working within a collaborative environment, you will provide essential services tailored to meet the needs of those we serve. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential, as the role requires working across Wiltshire.
This post involves providing a materials management service for community hospitals and neighbourhood teams across Wiltshire for the HCRG BSW Group. Responsibilities include stock checks, ordering, stock put-away, scheduled stock reviews, and maintaining storage areas and systems to standard.
Main Responsibilities
1. Deliver a full materials management service for designated departments.
2. Conduct regular stock checks, manage stock levels, and maintain accurate records.
3. Perform stock reviews, advise budget holders on product usage, and optimize stock levels to minimize obsolescence and achieve savings.
4. Ensure safe and efficient storage of stock, rotating stock to reduce obsolescence.
5. Identify alternative products and supply routes to support cost savings, sharing information with colleagues.
6. Organize and process returns of products purchased from NHS or non-stock items.
7. Respond promptly to product recalls and inform relevant departments.
8. Be available via paging system during working hours to respond courteously and professionally to customer inquiries.
The Ideal Candidate
* Good GCSEs in Mathematics and English or equivalent.
* Proficiency in Word and Excel.
* Experience in purchasing or customer service environments.
* Experience with purchase order systems.
* Strong data entry and keyboard skills.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Good English language skills, both written and spoken.
* Numeracy skills.
* Organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Logical problem-solving approach.
* Full driving licence and ability to use a personal vehicle for work (mileage paid).
* Self-motivated and driven.
* Good time management.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Physical ability to perform active job roles.
* Willing to work in other areas as needed.
