About the Role – Learning Support Assistant / Teaching assistant
As a Youth Worker / LSA / Learning Support Assistant / Teaching assistant, you will support students with:
1. SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs)
2. EBD (Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties)
3. ADHD / ADD
4. Challenging behaviour, including verbal or physical escalation
Daily responsibilities include:
5. 1:1 support and small-group interventions
6. Behaviour management and de-escalation
7. Building positive relationships with pupils who need consistency
8. Supporting learning, emotional regulation and personalised programmes
9. Maintaining a calm, structured and supportive environment
Essential Requirements
To apply for this Learning Support Assistant / Teaching assistant role, you must have:
10. At least 6 months’ experience supporting challenging young people
11. Experience in PRUs, SEND settings, youth work or alternative education
12. Strong written and spoken English
13. Right to work in the UK
14. A 5-year employment history with all gaps explained
15. Two years of references, including one from an education or care setting
16. Enhanced DBS (and overseas police checks if applicable)
