About the Role:
Join a new team delivering the Future State Architecture for payment processing. We aim to introduce a lean and reusable payment processing engine that will form the foundation of next-generation payment capabilities. This role involves leveraging existing software assets in an inner-sourcing model, focusing on reuse and enhancement to enable rapid delivery of new product features at low cost and high quality.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engineering expertise for next-generation payment processing architecture.
* Develop high-quality, resilient, and scalable software solutions.
* Lead by example in coding standards, testing, and quality assurance.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new capabilities.
* Drive modernization and cloud adoption for payment systems.
* Set benchmarks for software delivery and technical excellence.
* Act as a subject matter expert, providing solutions to complex technical challenges.
* Ensure alignment with corporate technology strategy and best practices.
* Partner with DevOps for automated infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and security compliance.
* Conduct feasibility studies, cost/benefit analyses, and system reviews.
* Provide architecture guidance and ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards.
* 15+ years of experience in API engineering and architecture.
* Strong expertise in API design, microservices, and distributed systems.
* Proficiency in Java; experience with Go and Rust preferred.
* Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, service mesh.
* Expertise in Kafka, observability tools (Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus), and cloud/DevOps.
* Solid knowledge of Linux, networking, storage, and SQL; familiarity with distributed databases.
* Experience in financial services/payments domain is a plus.
* Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
