Primary teacher- small groups
We are seeking a passionate and adaptable Primary-Trained Teacher to deliver core subjects (English, Maths, Science) to small groups of pupils aged 10–18. Each class has up to 6 students, all with complex additional educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and backgrounds involving Childhood Adverse Experiences (CAE).
This is a unique opportunity to apply your primary teaching expertise in a nurturing secondary SEN setting, where relationships, creativity, and flexibility are key.
Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in core subjects

Foster a safe, structured, and emotionally supportive learning environment
*
Use trauma-informed and autism-friendly approaches to support pupils’ development
*
Work closely with therapists, support staff, and families to meet individual needs
*
Track progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and personalised learning plans
Requirements
*
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with primary training
*
Experience working with pupils with ASC, SEMH, or trauma backgrounds
*
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
*
Ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning styles and needs
*
Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding
