Job Description
My client is a Refinery which is located on the east coast of England in North Lincolnshire, United Kingdom. The Humber facility include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, hydrodesulfurization, thermal cracking and delayed coking units. The refinery has two coking units with associated calcining plants. This is the only coking refinery in the United Kingdom, and a producer of high-quality specialty graphite and anode-grade petroleum cokes. The refinery also produces a high percentage of transportation fuels. The majority of the light oils produced by the refinery are distributed to customers in the United Kingdom by pipeline, railcar and truck, while the other refined petroleum products are exported throughout the world.
They are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a temporary basis initially covering 24 months but this could continue after. The vacancy resides within their Project Group and will report through their Project Manager
THE ROLE:
Liaison with construction and procurement groups in the preparation, award and management of construction / fabrication contracts.
Develop and amend 'Schedule of Rates' basis to apply to discipline construction contracts.
Develop and implement processes to measure, value and certify construction works performed.
