The School and Role We are currently seeking a resilient and committed SEMH Teacher to work within an alternative provision supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role involves planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons to pupils who may have experienced disruption in their education and require additional emotional and behavioural support. You will be responsible for creating a structured and consistent learning environment while supporting pupils to re-engage with education and develop positive behaviours for learning. Working closely with support staff and pastoral teams, you will play a key role in helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and emotional regulation skills. A calm, adaptable, and proactive approach is essential, alongside strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils. This alternative provision, based within the Kirklees area, supports pupils who are unable to access mainstream education due to social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The setting provides a structured and nurturing environment focused on helping pupils achieve both academically and personally. Staff work collaboratively to provide pupils with the consistency and support needed to succeed. Class sizes are small, allowing for a personalised and flexible approach to teaching and learning.
