GSL Education are seeking motivated and supportive Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Sheffield (S5, S9). As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with teachers to support classroom learning, assist students who need additional help, and contribute to creating a positive and engaging learning environment. Teaching Assistant (TA) Responsibilities: Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons Provide one-to-one and small group support to students who require additional assistance Assist with the preparation of classroom materials and learning resources Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment Encourage student participation and engagement during lessons Support classroom organisation and behaviour management in line with school policies Assist students with their academic tasks and learning activities Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to support student progress Requirements of a Teaching Assistant: Experience working with children or young people is desirable A patient, supportive, and positive attitude Strong communication and teamwork skills The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff A commitment to supporting students’ learning and development An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing a new application.
