Assistant Quantity Surveyor - (Internal applications only)
Based: Wrexham office based; Travel to site around North Wales, Shropshire, Herefordshire and surrounding areas. Working hours: 08:30 – 17:00, Monday – Friday.
Responsibilities
* Within our Tenanted Social Housing refurbishment and void works programs, commercially supporting the delivery of planned internal and external works such as kitchen & bathroom replacements, window & door upgrades and various void works to ensure properties are to a livable standard. Work from the office, home and on site, collaborating with your team in an inclusive and fair environment. Manage the full end-to-end lifecycle of a project including subcontractor procurement and mobilisation.
* Work closely with the Operational teams in Wrexham and be supported by our Senior Quantity Surveyor, covering multiple planned Social housing refurbishment and void contracts across the region. Obtain and evaluate information to ensure a realistic cost for the supply of works, goods, materials, and services for designated projects. Liaise with Contractors, Suppliers and Clients to ensure information, costs, profitability and value meet project requirements.
* Monitor contract progress, assess and report changes that may affect project costs and/or timescales. Liaise with Contract Managers to establish project specifications and requirements. Value and authorise payments to sub-contractors. Assist in the control of contract budgets. Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts for designated projects. Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment to the Client/Client’s representative. Prepare monthly valuation reports. Submit invoices for certified value and ensure payments are received on time. Attend and contribute to meetings with colleagues and clients, building relationships and demonstrating effective communication.
* Assist in the development of the procurement programme. Assist in the preparation, processing and selection of estimates, bids, and tenders to demanding timescales.
About You
You will ideally have experience of working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor delivering refurbishment works, preferably within the Social Housing sector but not essential. You should have attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills, be proficient with MS Office, and hold a Full UK Driving Licence as travel is required. A DBS check will be required for this role.
