The Vacancy
Job Purpose:
To assist in the delivery of an effective national water hygiene service to ensure City Facilities Management (UK) Ltd meets its statutory responsibilities and provides safe working environments for employees, clients, and those affected by our undertaking.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Follow instructions from the Night Water Technician / Water Hygiene Supervisor or Water Hygiene Manager.
2. Raise reactive jobs for any non-PPM (Pre-Planned Maintenance) tasks.
3. Carry out cleaning and chlorination of cold water storage tanks and associated systems in Asda premises (nationally), subject to 6-monthly risk-based inspection.
4. Perform tasks mainly outside normal store hours to minimize disruption.
5. Notify Asda and City Management in advance of planned works via phone and email.
6. Complete documentation during site visits and communicate regularly with the Night Technician.
7. Send nightly handover/update to WH Supervisor with related documentation.
8. Raise additional work requests as per company process.
9. Assist with servicing Kalguard water softening systems.
10. Service cold water dispensers when requested.
11. Close down jobs after completion as per company process.
12. Maintain regular communication with line management about work issues.
13. Notify night technician of defective equipment.
14. Maintain stock levels of consumables and chemicals; report issues.
15. Keep vehicle clean, safe, and tidy, storing chemicals per H&S guidelines.
16. Undertake additional water hygiene tasks during daytime as needed.
17. Assist colleagues during holidays, sickness, or absence.
18. Work alongside other night shift colleagues across the UK.
19. Undertake additional duties as directed by the Water Hygiene Manager/Supervisor.
20. Contribute to store and ALS operations, supporting team objectives.
21. Assist with other water hygiene tasks as instructed.
22. Complete all work to high standards efficiently and cost-effectively, complying with H&S policy.
23. Complete tasks within designated timeframes to satisfy company and client requirements.
24. Proficient in written/verbal communication, report writing, and recording procedures.
25. Attend training to keep skills updated with technical and business developments.
26. Complete all mandatory online training modules.
27. Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and company policies.
28. Work with colleagues to maintain quality standards.
29. Represent the company professionally and develop good relationships with City and ASDA colleagues.
30. Follow reasonable instructions from City Management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Essential:
* GCSE standard education.
* PC literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Role-related experience.
* Good communication skills (written and verbal).

Desirable:
* Degree of flexibility.
* Overnight stays away from home (Mon-Thurs).
* Full driving license.
