Joining 2 Partners, David Rintoul & Sam Nichols, along with 2 Legal Directors, 1 Senior Associate, 2 Associates, 2 Trainees and 1 Paralegal, this appointment underlines the firm's commitment to London market and investing in the best people to help support growth. Introduction to the team: The team, headed up nationally by Anjon Mallik and now 33 strong, is a leading force in the property and construction sector, dealing exclusively with construction and engineering law matters, construction and engineering sector clients and clients procuring construction and engineering services. The team are recognised experts for contentious and non-contentious work with an international client base which includes developers, funders, consultants, UK and European based contractors and sub-contractors. Such a depth of expertise means a unique spread of work covering multiple jurisdictions for both project and dispute work (including international arbitrations). Key responsibilities: Manage own contentious work and assist with non-contentious work acting for employers and contractors, construction professionals and funders Manage own and assist in dispute resolution through litigation, arbitration, adjudication, mediation, and negotiation Drafting pleadings, witness statements and instructing experts Client liaison – direct contact developing the relationship Reviewing and reporting on all forms of construction and engineering contracts Drafting and negotiating building contracts Due diligence of construction contracts Preparing professional appointments and warranties and manage their completion Preparing performance bonds and parent company guarantees Preparing reports and due diligence Drafting letters of advice/instructions to clients/experts Preparation of documents in proceedings, including claims, witness statements and other documents What are we looking for: Important criteria: Qualified Solicitor or equivalent Previous construction experience It would be beneficial for you to have some of the following: Excellent organisational skills Demonstrates an understanding of clients, colleagues, and others Adheres to guidelines and procedures Ability to interact and communicate with the client and keep them up to date The ability to work as part of a team and independently Renewables sector experience Adjudication experience If you don't meet all of the criteria above but feel that you could add real value to Hill Dickinson, we encourage you to submit an application and if successful, we can help you develop along the way.
