*Job Overview*As a Class 2 HGV Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of building materials using a Category C Licence. This role requires strong driving and commercial driving skills.
*Duties*
* *Driving:* Safely operating an HGV Class 2 vehicle within legal limits and adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
* *Delivery Planning: *Planning routes, schedules, and making adjustments based on traffic and other factors.
* *Vehicle Maintenance: *Conducting daily vehicle checks, reporting any issues, and ensuring the vehicle is roadworthy.
* *Loading and Unloading: *Assisting with or supervising the safe loading and securing of goods, ensuring they are transported without damage. Forklift experience is advantageous.
* *Record Keeping: *Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, trips, and driving hours.
* *Communication: *Communicating effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members.
* *Customer Service: *Providing excellent customer service during deliveries and handling any issues that may arise.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Physically fit as will involve lifting and carrying goods.
* Needs to be aware of current traffic reports and adapt routes accordingly.
* Must be able to work independently and manage time effectively.
*Qualifications*
* Valid Category C Licence. Hiab experience preferable but can be learnt on job.
* New starters Class 2 HGV Driver welcome but must be over the age of 25 due to insurance restrictions
* Previous delivery driver experience in the local Gloucester area is advantageous
* Ability to follow safety regulations and road laws
* Good communication skills and customer service orientation
