The below job description will outline this position of: Marine Pipefitter: Typically, this person will be responsible for the fabrication, installation, and testing of small-bore pipework systems onboard marine vessels and within workshop environments. The role will involve working from technical drawings and schematics to produce high-quality pipe installations across a variety of materials, ensuring compliance with marine standards and client specifications. Duties and responsibilities of the Marine Pipefitter: Fabrication and installation of small-bore pipework systems in a range of materials including stainless steel, carbon steel, copper-nickel, and other marine-grade alloys Working from technical drawings, P&IDs, and isometric diagrams to ensure accurate pipe routing and installation Installation and maintenance of hydraulic pipe systems, including high-pressure lines and associated components Assembly and installation of press-fit pipe systems such as Geberit Mapress Measuring, cutting, bending, threading, and fitting pipework to high quality and safety standards Pressure testing, inspection, and fault finding on installed systems Ensuring all work complies with marine classification society standards and company quality procedures Working safely in confined spaces and onboard vessels, adhering to H&S regulations at all times Liaising with supervisors, engineers, and other trades to ensure efficient project delivery Qualifications and requirements for the Marine Pipefitter: Proven experience in fabrication and installation of small-bore pipework within marine, shipbuilding, offshore, or heavy engineering environments Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and associated components Experience working with press-fit systems (e.g., Geberit Mapress) Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and isometric diagrams High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality workmanship Relevant engineering apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering / Pipefitting (desirable) Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment This vacancy is being advertised by HSB Technical who have been appointed to act as the recruitment consultancy for this role.
