SWSLHD Mental Health Service is recruiting for a Nurse Unit Manager (Level 2) for the High Dependency Unit located at Liverpool hospital. The newly refurbished unit provides specialised, secure and therapeutic inpatient care for consumers experiencing acute, severe mental illness with a focus on promoting recovery and reducing coercive practices. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic and collaborative multidisciplinary team with a strong commitment to safety, consumer advocacy and trauma informed mental health care. As the NUM, you will have the opportunity to provide expert clinical leadership in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives and innovative models of care. Liverpool mental health is one of the largest mental health inpatient facilities in NSW. With six units including Acute Adult, High Dependency, Sub Acute, and Psychiatric Emergency Care, Liverpool Mental Health gives nurses the opportunity to acquire new skills in mental health care and progress their knowledge in the field.Nurses and NUMs are supported to engage in further study to evolve their understanding of mental health care and develop their leadership capability. Our units are centres of excellence and a hub of cultural, gender and socioeconomic diversity, providing compassionate care to consumers and making a positive change for those who are disadvantaged in the community. The Mental Health Unit receives referrals from across the mental health service and works in partnership with a range of community services to assist integration back to community living, improving the quality of life for consumers accessing our service. Selection Criteria

Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.

How do you utilise incident data, audit findings, and emerging safety signals to lead risk reduction and continuous improvement, and how do you ensure that lessons learned from incidents result in sustained practice change?
